Women's Winter Hiking Retreat

December 5-7, 2025

Weekend SCHEDULE

Join Sally for a rejuvenating winter escape at Camp Manitowa, designed for women who love a little adventure and nature. 

Stay cozy in our heated cabins or yurts, and enjoy a ride on the school bus to explore stunning Giant City State Park's scenic winter hiking trails. 
 

After a day of hiking, unwind for a delicious, hot dinner. Take part in arts and crafts, a winter foraging workshop, hang by the huge bonfire, and spend peaceful time in nature. 
 

Here is the tentative schedule. Please keep in mind, you can do all of it or pick and choose! 

Friday:

3:30-4:30pm - Arrive and get settled in your yurt

5:00pm – Gather for a rundown of the weekend events,

introductions, meet our facilitators, & mini-meditation to set intentions for the weekend
6:00pm – Dinner - the food will be amazing
Bonfire and social time

Saturday:

Anytime: Hike around camp trails
7:00 – Coffee available in the kitchen

8:00am - BREAKFAST
9:00am – Depart on the school bus to Giant City State Park in Shawnee National Forest

11:30pm - Lunch - we will bring our grab n' go lunches and enjoy them at a picnic table or on the bus between hikes. 
Note: We will do 2-3 short hikes that may take 1-2 hours each. Option to repeat for the endurance gals! 


3:00pm - Arrive back at camp, change, get cozy!
3:30pm - Yoga for all levels + sound bath with Debby Siegel

6:00pm – Dinner

7:00pm - Live at the bonfire with Jeremy McConaughey

Sunday options:
7:00am - Coffee available in the kitchen + fruit and yogurt
8:00am - Yoga for all levels + sound bath with Debby
9:15am- Hike around the camp's nature trails
10:30am - Brunch & reflection

11:30am - Option for one last bit of nature. Sally will offer direction after brunch.


During the entire camp, you can pick and choose what you will attend. Curate your weekend!
Take all the free time that you want!
Sleep late, have a friend grab you breakfast!


What to bring:

  • Bedding & towels (if you are flying in, contact Sally about this)

  • Yoga mat

  • A variety of clothing/hats for activities and weather changes

  • Hiking boots or hiking shoes

  • Wool socks, gloves, neck warmer, hat

  • Small backpack to carry your drinks/food on the hikes

  • Hand warmers

  • Nalgene bottle or similar for hydrating

  • Small blanket or throw for bonfires, chilly mornings

  • Flashlight &/or headlamp

  • Earplugs just in case

  • SPACE HEATER / Heating blanket if you are staying in a yurt

  • Swimsuit for cold plunge in the lake :)

Lodging:

Yurts & heated cabins

Weekend Facilitators

Debby Siegel, MSE, 500 ERY 

Debby Siegel, TA childhood of traipsing barefoot in the Arizona desert chasing her gold prospector dad established Debby’s early connection to nature and the outdoors. Today you’ll find her roaming on a bicycle, monkeying up tall rocks, swimming and paddling along in waters and practicing yoga on any surface available.

 

Debby values community, creativity, adventure, and the healing power that wild places can provide. She has been artistically helping others come home to themselves through yoga’s self care and the growth that comes from discomfort for thousands of hours, all around the globe.Debby considers herself a serial learner and is well known for her distinct artistry of connection. She regularly helps people in connecting to their breath, their body and their true selves. Connecting them to each other. Connecting them to their unique paths. Connecting them to the planet. She’s done so in yoga studios and at corporations around the US. As well, students have discovered her at festivals and retreats including Wanderlust, Kripalu Center, Burning Man and ReKinection.
